Trays range in size from 700mm up to 1000mm. If you need a shower, large enough for two people then you need a rectangular shower base and enclosure. A 700 x 700mm shower is small and a 1000 x 1000mm one is vast. Most people choose enclosure in between these two extremes.
Square Shower Trays range in height from 61mm up to 680mm. Low profile trays are much easier to step in and out, especially for people whose mobility is limited; they look better and modern. Some have a sloping lip, where the tray meets the wall or enclosure, others have a flat lip. Some trays have the waste in the centre, others to one side and others in one corner. Some have more of a ridged non-slip surface than others; these trays generally cost slightly more, but are worth it to most people.Material Matters
Materials include acrylic, stone resin and acrylic capped resin. Judge the feel of the three materials in our showrooms, where our sales assistants can explain more about each material, allowing you to make a more informed choice. Modern acrylic versions are much stronger than those of twenty years ago, so do not dismiss this option out of hand. Stone resin and acrylic-capped stone resin trays are heavier than acrylic ones, but are still manageable for one man to fit. Stone resin is made from finely ground stone mixed with a resin and gives a more rigid tray than acrylic does.
Tray prices include a waste fitting, making them more attractive. Generally the prices are reasonable and you get what you pay for, so it is best to choose on the basis of style and material.
