FAQ's
- What is a hinged door, and can they be installed in a small bathroom?
A hinged door features hinges for opening and closing. The side-mounted hinges allow the door to swing outward, inward, or both, offering wide access to the enclosure. It can be used in small-sized bathrooms, provided there is space for door clearance to fully open outward. For bathrooms with limited space, sliding or bifold shower doors are better alternatives. Sliding & Bifold option, slide or fold along fixed tracks, and don't need any space for the door to swing open. They are a clear winner when you have a compact bathroom with limited floor space.
- What is the best glass thickness for a shower door?
All shower doors available at our online store feature toughened safety glass as a standard, but differ in thickness. However, we do recommend at least having a glass thickness between 6mm and 8mm. Thicker glass offers greater stability & durability. It also complies with the required British safety standards for bathroom installations.
- Are shower doors offered by QS compliant with UK safety & other regulations?
Yes, at QS Supplies, all of the shower doors are made from toughened safety glass that complies with BS EN 12150 standards. Correct installation in line with manufacturer guidelines is essential to ensure safe and reliable long-term use.
