Why Select Shower Baths?

Although the bathroom is generally not the focal point of one’s home, most householders nevertheless want a finished bathroom that is both attractive and utilitarian. Whether it’s your own private bathroom or one that is accessible to guests, you want to make it a pleasant and practical space. Accordingly, we offer a variety of fixtures and fittings to achieve just the right balance of form and function, at the right price, no matter how large or how small your bathroom(s) is/are. And the products showcased on these pages are very popular options these days. Read on for a few reasons they’re so popular.

A Bath or a Shower? You get to choose.

Experts of all stripes have long argued about the benefits – health, environmental and otherwise – of showers versus baths. From a water conservation perspective, it would seem that showers are the hands-down winners as most use significantly less water than baths, particularly if you use a water-efficient showerhead (and yes, we sell those too). Yet the therapeutic value and profound pleasure of a long hot soak in the tub at the end of a grueling day cannot be denied. So we’ll leave the arguing to the experts. The truth is that most of us prefer to have a choice, which is why it makes sense to buy a bathtub that also allows you to take a shower.

Showerbaths are typically installed against a wall, and a glass screen is then installed at one end of to create an enclosed cubicle. A fixed showerhead with a mixer shower is fitted to the wall in this area, allowing for either a refreshing shower by standing directly under the showerhead, or an enjoyable soak in a hot (or cool) tub.

And by the way, if you’re worried about water conservation – as we all should be – use a water-efficient showerhead and take shorter showers. Or if you’re taking a bath, fill the tub with just the amount of water you need. Whether you’re a bath or shower aficionado, one of our designer model showcased above would be the perfect choice.

The shape of things to come

As you’ll see when browsing our site, these baths come in several different sizes and shapes so you can find the one to best suit your bathroom. Most homeowners in the UK prefer with a screen, for it allows them to quickly shower in the morning, and then have the pleasure of deep soaking in a warm bath after work.

No matter which shape you prefer, we offer you an impressive, state of the art collection that includes our best picks from an array of leading brands.

Brilliant choices when space is at a premium

Many people today – first time house buyers, people who have had to downsize, and others – are dealing with the challenges of a small living space. In many homes the problem is most acute in the bathroom. It’s not as if we need our baths to be large enough for ballroom dancing or roller-skating, but a little extra space would be nice

Herein lies a major benefit of a showerbath: it is a brilliant space saver, taking up considerably less floor area than a separate tub and a cubicle. This makes it an ideal choice for smaller spaces, but it can maximise the use of space in any size bath. So don’t rule out one of our combination models even if you don’t have a tiny room.

Which one is right for you?

With so many attractive models available it can be difficult to choose. Apart from the personal preferences regarding shape and style, it is of course very important that you measure everything properly so you’ll get the right model for your available space.

Don’t worry: you don’t have to do this alone. Our team of experts is here to help you choose just the right size and style, as well as all necessary accessories, and we will do everything in our power to ensure timely delivery, quality installation, and after-sale satisfaction. We look forward to serving you.

Got the 1700mm Carronite version with shower screen. Absolutely top-notch, comfortable and roomy for my 6' frame and feels very solid indeed. The text in the description referring to "the image shows the right-hand model" doesn't refer to the default image showing the view from above (that's a left-hand model), but to the studio photo image which includes the screen - very confusing. If in doubt, check the info about this bath on the Carron Baths website to confirm what left-hand/right-hand means. Also, be sure to check the bath extremely carefully for damage when it is delivered, especially on the internal projecting corner where the bath widens-out. QS's supplier seem to drag them around in the back of the van and it can tear through the protective cardboard packaging and damage the surface - we had to return the first one we had delivered for this reason. QS and their supplier swapped it with absolutely no hassle, so top marks for that.

Spent an age looking at shower baths before choosing this one. So pleased I did. Plenty of room at the shower end makes it feel more like a proper shower cubicle.
