First time of using this site but Excellent service, ordered shower at 4pm on 27 Jan 2014 and received it at 11:50 am on 29 Jan 2014. Had to wait until 1 Feb for my plumber to fit it but after first use I am very impressed with the product which has replaced a Mira Sport fitted in 2002.

Have always had Mira sport showers. This time I thought I would try the Airboost version. Don't bother - its very noisy and not very effective! Next time (if hopefully it lasts for a while!) I will go for the theromstacic version.

Chris Asked :Can anyone help me, do I need to upgrade my wiring if I have 8kw to a 9kw electric shower?
Answered By Jasbir :
This shower is rated 9kw at 240v. UK electricity is 230v, at this voltage the shower is rated at 8.3kw (from Mira website). You must have a 40amp fuse at the fuse box. I assume you have min. 6mm cable, this should be ok but the length and fitting method can limit load capacity. If you are not sure then ask an electrician, but the short answer is that it “should” be ok.
Excellent shower by the way!
Answered By David :
Depending how far your shower is from your main fuse board you. Should have a 6mm or 10mm cable. Mira helpline will be happy to tell you.
