I know it's only a toilet seat, but when you buy a cheap one you know about it! They stain easily, perhaps come loose regularly, feel cheaper and then you throw them away a couple of years later anyway. I was really impressed with these. They're plain white, nothing special, but the plastic is very thick and they're very solid; they feel nicer to use and you can tell the difference. They never come loose and the slow close works fine. A bit too slow actually if I'm honest, but better that way round I guess. It's also quite a nice traditional shape, so if you're trying to achieve a traditional look in your bathroom but are worried about using a plastic seat, don't be. In short, I wouldn't hesitate in buying another one of these and in fact we're thinking of replacing the wooden one we bought, that has posh chrome Victorian style hinges, with another of these.

We bought two of these; one for our family bathroom and one for our downstairs WC. Both used by our 3 children as well as us, so they have a good test environment! They've stood up well over the last year and the soft close on seat and cover is great. They also look nice, resist staining well and feel very solid. You can really tell the difference between these and a £20 alternative. In fact, I would recommend these over a wooden alternative, personally. In terms of looks, they are quite traditional in style, which is what we were looking for, so while they would suit a modern bathroom they also look great as a more traditional seat.
