Armitage Shanks Belfast S580001 Details

Exceptionally sturdy, the Belfast Heavy Duty Sink by Armitage Shanks is made of fireclay that is the most durable material used in ceramic manufacturing. Its surface retains its original appearance for a long period. An overflow is integral to this ceramic ware to hasten the draining process. You can have the drainer to your left or right as the sink can be installed reversibly.

Optional purchasing along with the product would include A plastic bottle trap for waste gases; a strainer waste to arrest drainage blockers and an aluminium bracket to facilitate the installation process. Taps shown in the image are kitchen pillar taps, which can be purchased separately.

Fireclay

It is incredibly hard-wearing and has an everlasting shiny surface. They have a high heat resistance (1600°C) and are chemical resistant, non-porous, and hygienic.

With / Without Overflow

An overflow is a small hole or opening at the upper part of a sink, basin, bidet or tub that drains away water upon reaching its level so that no water is spilt. When a basin or bath does not come with this design feature, it is called “without overflow” and will need a compatible drain.

The classic Belfast sink but in smaller format, this is a practical and useful addition to our utility room. We also purchased the metal legs shown in the photo which are ideal for setting the sink at the right height. The only criticism we would have is that it was not well packaged but fortunately it arrived undamaged and is fine in use.
