This button is factory set at 38°C, which prevents users from increasing the water temperature beyond a specific limit. When required, higher temperatures can be selected by pushing the button. We renovated our bathroom from top to bottom on a bit of a budget but I fell in love with this tap the minute I saw it and had to splash out' and get it. It is a beautiful thing and very well made. Very heavy compared to other mixers but it's still on the wall! The body stays cool and the water temperature is consistent and it's just great. The buttons on the controls feel a little plasticity especially compared to the solid metal body.
