Chris Asked :What is un-slotted waste?
Answered By QS Team :
Wastes come in two variations, Slotted and Un-slotted. A washbasin with an overflow will need a slotted basin waste, while a basin without overflow will require an Un-slotted waste. Choosing the right kind of waste is essential to prevent leakages and other damages to the waste and overflow. To give you a better idea, let me explain why the right kind of waste (slotted or un-slotted) is necessary for the sink's optimum working. For a basin with an overflow, the slots (of the slotted waste) line up with the overflow at the bottom of the basin so that there is a place for the water to drain out. Therefore, when there is no overflow, these slots are not required, and an un-slotted waste will do the job.
