An overflow is a small hole or opening at the upper part of a sink, basin, bidet or tub that drains away water upon reaching its level so that no water is spilt. When a basin or bath does not come with this design feature, it is called “without overflow” and will need a compatible drain.

Probably a silly question, but the length of my bathroom is exactly 1700mm. I note on the detailed drawings it's 1700 + 5mm. Is the 5mm assuming a panel or is it just 1700mm with a rough tolerance of 5mm? Thank you.

Perfectly sensible question…The +/- 5mm is the industry-accepted tolerance on the 1700 measurement, they are usually slightly under rather than over so you should be ok. Worst case, a small amount of the bath ledge could be chased into the wall by your installer.
