Merlyn Ionic MB8 Details

The Merlyn Ionic Two Panel Folding Bath screen demonstrates the versatility and user convenience giving the user free reign over how they create their own bespoke bath-shower space. It consists of 2 frame-less panels which come with chrome hinge and a built-in stop mechanism. It ensures that you need have no worries about splashing water onto the bathroom floor while you shower. To give easy access to the bathtub, the screen with a single fold can be neatly and conveniently turned in on itself and tucked away flush against the wall. It is coated with Mershield Stayclear, a glass protection formula which makes for easy removable of grime and safeguards against the accumulation of limescale.

Please Note: Bath screens are not designed to fit on baths with stepped fronts, roll-top rims or integral soap dishes. Fitting of bath screens on baths which have a raised head or shape is not recommended. Bath screen must not be impaired by bath handles. Not suitable for power showers.

Mershield Stayclear Coating

All Merlyn Series range products are subjected to the Mershield Stayclear glass protection that keeps the glass looking clear. It decelerates the build-up of lime scale and soap deposits, making cleaning an absolute breeze. The coatings' smooth surface does not allow any grime, dirt or water to stick easily, keeping it pristine.

Toughened Safety Glass

Toughened glass, tempered or safety glass as it is rightly called, is five times harder than regular glass of the same size and thickness, which makes it so that it won’t break as easily. It also shatters with scattering as it tends to break into tiny, blunt pieces without harming anyone nearby. Known to have greater thermal strength, this durable material with double glazing has almost twice the soundproofing abilities and provides excellent heat insulation.

Reversible Design

Frameless

As the name implies, shower doors or bath screens with minimal framing in the design are called frameless. This is a quality item. Extremely heavy, required 2 grown men to get it up the stairs and into position and the instructions weren't that clear. An error was made in fitting one of the parts but was soon replaced free of charge by Merlyn. Very stylish looking, longer than most screens I've seen and the glass is very easy to keep clean. Well worth the money and comes with a lifetime guarantee. My only criticism would have been quite useful if the first half of the screen didn't move.
