I have no space behind the tap. Do the tap levers rotate forwards, or do they need to turn backwards?

You pull the handles/levers forward (for hot/cold) to start the flow of water. They do not need to be pushed back.

The connector on the tap is a 3/8-Inch stem fitting. We supply a speed fit from a 3/8-Inch push to a 1/4-Inch push.

Can this be used for both cold drinking water and hot/cold soften water, please? Also, what is the maximum hole size required for the tap hoses? What is the circumference of the tap (the section that touches the sink or worktop)?

Yes, the tap can be used with softened water. The baseplate cut out (the hole needed in the worktop) will be 35mm. The diameter of the Baseplate is 52mm in diameter.

Would I be able to fit a swivel spray nozzle onto the end of this tap, please?

Unfortunately, not. All Crosswater filter taps have a connection at the end of the nozzle that, should anything be placed between them, would stop the flow of water from working.
