I have broken the seat on my Ideal Standard Playa soft-close toilet seat. The mechanism and cover are still ok. If I bought a normal (i.e. not soft close) set, would the seat be compatible with the soft close hinges, or do I have to buy a complete soft close set?

Unfortunately, a complete replacement standard seat would be required as the soft-close hinges would not fit a standard close seat.

Hi, Currently have the soft close version of this, but the seat is cracked. If I buy the standard, will this fit? Also is it possible to keep the soft close hinge to allow the standard to soft close?

The normal close seat will fit perfectly on the existing pan however you cannot use your existing soft close fittings on the normal close seat.
