Nigel Asked :Hello, we have the Pura Fastflow Shower waste, and we get a terrible smell. Does the cup sit on the lugs used to tighten the top to the base, or do you allow it to drop inside? What forms a seal between the chrome top and the trap, is there supposed to be a rubber O ring? We are on our second unit of yours, and this one has only been installed a few months and is already rusty, and the plastic is perishing.
Answered By QS Team :
We have contacted the manufacturer regarding your issue, and this is their reply: "Sorry that you are experiencing a problem with one of our products. There is no rubber seal in our shower wastes; it is the water 'trap' formed between the cup and the waste body that stops any smells coming up from the drains. The cup should NOT sit in the grooves as this leaves it to be high and a seal may not be formed, it should be rotated so that the fins of the cups sit between the lugs – not on them. As for it going rusty – there are no metal components in the waste; the chrome dome is plated ABS. Are you using any harsh bathroom cleaning products on it? We only recommend cleaning with a mild detergent. We sell thousands of these wastes every year and never have any problems with them.."
If you have purchased this shower waste from us, please provide us with your order number and we would be happy to send you out a replacement dome FOC to you if you would like one
