I don't know of any instructions for it but do be very careful when fitting this sink. Make sure the hole in the worktop is accurate as you haven't got a big lip around the edge, but once you drop the sink in, the clips on it make it very secure and you have a very difficult job in getting it out again. The best way to seal it is to run a bead of silicone around the edge of your hole before you drop the sink in and then if necessary run another bead around the end of the sink after its fitted.

Michael. Cut-out a window in the worktop about 20mm smaller than the outside edge. The clips should be there. Use clear silicone sealant during clamping down, wiping down the excess. Refer to Youtube for full instructions of similiar Franke product installations. Good Luck. Simon.

Hi Michael . My name is Stuart and I've been asked to answer your question as a previous purchaser of the sink. Firstly I'm a kitchen fitter and have fitted several of these sinks and it's not difficult. There are no fixings or tape as the sink has self fixing barbs on the sides to grip the worktop cut sides and a good quality clear anti bacterial silicone should be used. I spread the silicone over the cut edges of the worktop to help seal the raw chipboard and place a continuous bead around the edge to m press the sink intl. Remember to measure the squareness of the sink to the outside edge of the worktop and not the wall. The cutout must be smaller than the overall dimensions of the sink by Al least 10mm each way. I drill a large bore hole in each corner and then use my jig saw following a straight edge to cut the edges. If you need any more help you can email me at stumorystrad@aol.com good luck !!!!

Hi Michael
I install frankie sinks regularly and I can pass on my technique. Simply place sink upside down on worktop and make sure you are clear for fitting within unit below, mark all four corners in pencil then remove sink then measure ten millimetres inside those marks and join the lines in marker pen. Then go ahead and cut the sink area out with a jigsaw leaving a 10mm radius at each corner. Once cut out seal entire exposed edge with silicone sealant or contact adhesive, place a bead of silicone around the perimeter of the cut out about 6mm in diameter then place sink in opening and push firmly down in place.

Hi,
We did have fitting instructions with the taps that were also Franke. Our plumber fitted the sink so no idea regarding that, but you might be able to download the information from their website www.franke.co.uk. Regarding sealing the unit to the worktop, our plumber used a waterproof clear sealant that you would use round your bath or shower tray. It needs x amount of hours to dry before you can get it wet, but it will state how long to leave it on the can. Sealants can be bought from B&Q.
Hope that helps

Mine never came with foam tape either. I don't think that's included as part of the kit. You can buy the foam at B&Q for a couple of quid.
There are dimensions for the cut out in the download section here http://www.franke.com/content/kitchensystems/uk/en/home/products/bymodelrange/sinks/ascona/asx_651/101_0277_124_detail.html

I didn't keep the instructions. After cutting the work surface I ran a bead of clear kitchen & bathroom sealant round the edge of the hole before dropping the sink onto it and securing it, then smoothing round the edge to remove excess sealant. I don't remember whether there was a sealing strip supplied, sorry (it was a while ago).

I put a line of clear silicon sealant on the worktop before installing it. Then removed any excess that was squeezed out after securing the sink to the worktop.

Answered By Robert :
Just run a bead of clear silicone around the underside edge of the sink then push through the hole wiping away any excess silicone. The sink should then hold in place by the sharp grips around the edge of the underside of the sink.

Answered By Justin :
Use a sanding sealer, apply two coats to edges of the sink cut-out then use a good quality translucent silicone, preferably anti fungal, apply a bead around the top edge of the perimeter of the cut-out. The sink is basically self- fitting, just place it over the cut-out & press down firmly, job done!

Answered By Trayton :
You should have fitting instructions. I think they are on the Franke website. There wasn't any tap supplied. I sealed mine down with transparent mastic. Once dry I trimmed it with a sharp knife. Make sure the sink is located fully down in the hole in the work top. Once inserted it will not be easy to remove without damage.

On my sink there were grips which secured the sink in place when pressed down however remember to run a bead of good quality sealent between the sink and work surface before pressing fully into place.
