Q.) What is a Tax ID # and why is it required?

A.) A Tax ID # (also know as an employer identification number or EIN), is a number assigned solely to your business by the IRS. SoftwareLot.com is a Business-to-Business software wholesaler. Having your Tax ID # on file with us will exempt you from having to pay sales tax on any orders you place with us.

Q.) What if I don't have a Tax ID # or I don't want to enter it in?

A.) If you don't have a Tax ID #, you can use your social security number instead. Since SoftwareLot.com is an LLC registered in Nevada and is doing business in Pennsylvania, we are required to collect sales tax from any business located in Nevada or Pennsylvania unless they supply us with a Tax ID #. If your business is not located in Nevada or Pennsylvania than you do not have to keep a Tax ID # on file with us. Just enter
"Out of State" as your Tax ID # and we'll process your application for you.

If your business is located in Nevada or Pennsylvania, than we are required to have your Tax ID or Social Security # on file, or else we have to charge sales tax on any orders you place with us.
